Have your say about the future of Flourish in Bridport
Flourish Bridport health and wellbeing pop up cafes are searching for your views about how their sessions can support you to improve your health and wellbeing.
On Wednesday 22nd March between 1.30pm and 3pm Flourish will be meeting in the Chapel in the Garden, Bridport, to share a healthy soup lunch and to discuss what members of the community would like to happen in their monthly cafes for the rest of 2017.
Flourish is an initiative of local charity EDP Drug & Alcohol Services. Since April 2016 Flourish Bridport pop-up cafes have provided an opportunity for the local community to learn about and try different activities around nutrition, exercise and mind to improve health and wellbeing. The pop-up cafes have also given local organisations and healthcare groups the chance to signpost and promote their activities and support helping the local community to gain a greater sense of control over their health and wellbeing. The cafes are delivered by volunteer Health Champions who are members of the local community who are passionate about helping people to improve their health and wellbeing.
One participant who has benefited from the cafes said:
“It’s a lovely, friendly atmosphere. I love coming here and I hope it will continue and find a place to carry on the wonderful work that is done to help people like myself, who can be a bit depressed, living alone, with some health problems.”
Flourish are now taking some time to review what the pop up cafes should do next. They want to make sure that their pop up cafes help all members of the community to improve their health and wellbeing and so are inviting all members of the community to come along to share their thoughts on 22nd March.
