Devon launches a new Recovery Fund
Together Drug & Alcohol Services, EDP’s Devon service has just launched a new Recovery Fund. Why, you may ask, does Together need such a fund? Find out from a group of service users that have written an open letter to the people of Devon explaining more about what it means to be in recovery and why it matters so much to support the people in their community.
Reducing or stopping substances leaves a huge void in your life and so it is vital to find somewhere you feel at home and safe, to build new positive relationships, find hobbies and things you are passionate about and overall feel you have a sense of purpose and place within this new world. As you can imagine, it is common that we do not have the funds to make these things happen. We want to register for courses, improve our mental and physical health and create sustainable, purposeful and enjoyable recovery but we simply do not have the money to do so. This is why Together is creating a Recovery Fund – so that people engaged with our service and their own recovery, can obtain grants to do what matters to them when they do not have other means to do so.Open letter from Together Peer Mentors & Volunteers to the people of Devon
