What we do?

The Street Homeless Outreach Team (SHOT) is a local service that works in partnership to address the needs of people who are sleeping rough in Dorset (excluding Bournemouth and Poole).

We provide:

  • Street-based outreach to people who are sleeping rough
  • Engagement of people who are sleeping rough attending other services
  • Advice and information
  • Assessment
  • Supported referral to services (such as GPs, mental health, substance misuse)
  • Information on housing and accommodation in severe weather condition

We work closely with service users and partner agencies to improve outcomes for people who are sleeping rough and to reduce the impact of rough sleeping on local communities.

How to access SHOT Services?

People who are sleeping rough can self refer by phone or by dropping in to EDP bases. Referrals can be from agencies or family members/friends.
