Parents Letter of Thanks
Dear Gary, Where can we start this letter?
THANK YOU is a start but words are not enough to explain how we feel as the parents of Mark who suffers from mental health issues which have brought on heavy bouts of drinking and drug abuse and whom you and EDP worked hard to get back from the brink of suicide.
Your department is a godsend in a minefield of mental, drink & drug issues which are the scourge of today’s society. You personally worked with Mark through years of turmoil and you never gave up on him like so many others - you personally worked tirelessly with him until you were being advised to move on but you did not give up on him because you could see something in Mark. Gary, you are a man who has not had an easy life and you have channelled your own experiences to good use through working with EDP, without which we know our son would not have received the help he needed.
EDP also helped us as parents to learn how to cope, talking many times with you on the telephone and in the office.
Mark is now on a new path and is on the right road - nobody can say it will be simple, it will be a long journey for him but you started it.
Thank you again - we will keep in touch if we may on how Mark is progressing.
