Community Services

EDP works both in the community and in prisons across Devon and Dorset.

Direct Access Services

Anyone with concerns about illicit drug use (their own or someone else's) can walk in or ring to speak to a drugs worker without making an appointment first.  This is also where you can access Needle Exchange Services and obtain Safer Injecting Advice.

Many of our centres also offer group programmes and have satelite services, outreach workers and mobile needle exchange vans which cover a wider area.

Dorset also run a Mentoring Scheme and as part of the Rough Sleepers project have have a Street Homeless Outreach Team in West Dorset (Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Bridport & Sherbourne).

Please go to the "Need help from EDP" button at the top right of this page to find your local service.

Initial Assessments

We provide Initial Assessments for any adult entering treatment services in Devon (excluding Plymouth or Torbay) and in Dorset, with either EDP or prescribing services. You can self refer for an initial assessment by contacting your local Direct Access Service as detailed above or, if you prefer, through your GP.
